I've been a bit out of the loop for the past several months. That's a great thing, though.
The "loop" of ministry can be quite numbing, deadening - sometimes.
I knew I was out of the Loop when I visited Richard Reising's new blog page Beyond Relevance. I watched his video What If Starbucks Marketed Like the Church - and had to say to myself, "Oh, Yeah! I remember the mode of 'Church Marketing'."
Richard works in an area that is simply unavoidable in life - marketing. Everyone does it and every organization does it. Some do it really well - and some don't. Some market - but aren't aware what they're marketing - and - some are aware they're marketing, but aren't marketing what they actually intend to market.
Richard's book, Church Marketing 101 is a fantastic intro to this topic.
